For many athletes, making the team for a single multi-sport games is a career achievement; for Bob Bertemes, it’s an almost seasonal occurrence. The mighty Luxembourger has been to six editions of the Games of the Small States of Europe, along with two editions of the CISM Military World Games, two editions of the Jeux de la Francophonie, two editions of the European Championships, the first edition of the European Games, and the most recent edition of the Summer Olympic Games.

Students become masters in optimist sailing at Games of the Small States of Europe

Sailing was a unique at this year’s Games of the Small States of Europe. It was a contest of young sailors looking to make their mark on the sport. They were amongst the youngest athletes in competition on Malta, the sailing discipline was only open to athletes aged between 8 and 15 years old. Double Trap brings double medals to Malta, while reigniting hopes of Olympic inclusion and glory

Double Trap, a shooting discipline where shooters aiming for two clay pigeons launched in the air at the same time, once was a discipline at the Olympic Games. It disappeared from that big stage. Thanks to Malta it is at the program of the Games of Small States of Europe. Shooting is a traditional sport on the island. The Maltese Shooting Sport Federation and their shooters hope to return on the Olympic stage soon.
